Several ongoing partnerships with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), USAID and Power Africa are driving access to energy and transport solutions around the world.
Transforming Inclusive Energy Markets (TIME)
Scaling Energy Access Markets in Africa (SEAM)
- $42m partnership that ran from 2016 until 2022
- Focused on increasing access to affordable renewable energy for off-grid households in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Household Solar Funders Group (HSFG)
- Based on an earlier, smaller, initiative SF is currently hosting the Household Solar Funders Group (HSFG)
- The HSFG is a group of funders (donors & investors) with an interest in expanding the off-grid solar energy market at household level in Sub-Saharan Africa
- The ultimate objective of the HSFG is to accelerate access to energy (SDG7), through funder collaboration on activities which address market barriers and benefit from a collective approach
Promotion of Women in Energy-Related Enterprises for Development (POWERED)
- Three year programme with FCDO (India) designed to promote gender inclusion in the Indian energy development sector
- Will create 5000 jobs and support more than 100 women-owned enterprises in rural and urban India
Catalysing Agriculture by Scaling Energy Ecosystems (CASEE)
- £30m, seven-year co-funding partnership with the UK Government’s Research and Evidence Division (RED) launched in 2019
- Accelerating access to energy for smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia
- Aiming to leverage £110m of additional funding into the sector
Regional Electric Vehicle Value-chain Development (REVV'D)
- Three-year co-funding partnership founded by SF and the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office
- Developing ecosystems that accelerate the market led adoption of e-motorcycles and e-vehicles in Ethiopia, Uganda and Rwanda
